Born from a 2002 Pokémon Mini gem.
Grown into something far bigger.

The original Pokémon Tetris - known in Japan as Pokémon Shock Tetris - launched on Nintendo's tiny Pokémon Mini handheld in 2002. Released only in Japan and Europe, it introduced a brilliant idea: clear lines, catch Pokémon, fill your Pokédex. It even received an ESRB rating under the name "Pokémon Mini Shock Tetris" - hinting at a planned US release that was sadly never realised.

Pokémon Tetris 2026 takes that same core idea and rebuilds it for PC at full 1080p, adding a Gym Challenge, deep progression systems, and a wealth of content the original could only dream of - while staying true to the spirit that made the Pokémon Mini version special.

What's new in
version 1.1.3

A polish patch: the catch celebration is reborn as a Poke Ball catch animation that plays right in the Pokemon box - no more pausing - plus a batch of fixes.

v1.1.3 Latest release

CATCHING

  • The catch celebration no longer pauses the game. It now plays as a Poke Ball catch animation right inside the Pokemon box while the board keeps falling - you never lose control.
  • The ball wipes in to reveal your catch, then shows the next Pokemon coming up - with its name and how many turns you have to catch it.
  • It now celebrates every catch, not just new ones - "New Pokemon!" / "New Shiny!" for firsts, "Caught!" for repeats.
  • The ball reflects the catch: usually a Poke Ball, a rare 5% chance of another ball, and always a Master Ball for Special Pokemon.

FIXES

  • Bonus-mode unlock popups no longer overflow the screen on smaller resolutions, and now wait for you to press Enter (or Start/A) instead of vanishing instantly - with the gameplay behind them blurred for focus.
  • The Dex Entries total on the Stats screen was stuck at 1268 - it now correctly reads 1430, matching the Pokedex.
  • The shiny sound effect ignored the SFX volume slider and always played at full volume - it now respects the setting.

Everything from earlier releases is still here - the 23 Online Highscore Boards, all 48 Legends: Z-A Mega Evolutions, Gigantamax forms, and catchable Mythicals. Already installed? Just download and run the installer above - it updates your existing copy and keeps your Pokedex, badges and high scores.

...and one more thing. Not everything in this update made the patch notes. Some islands aren't on any map - some aren't even in the Pokémon universe. Rumour has it there's another creature-collecting franchise doing something rather similar these days... try typing its name on the main menu. 🌴

VERSION 1.1.3 - WINDOWS INSTALLER

Ready to catch 'em all
one line at a time?

Pokémon Tetris 2026 is free to download and play. Run the installer and you're clearing lines in under a minute - Start Menu and desktop shortcuts included, no admin rights needed.

⬇  DOWNLOAD FOR WINDOWS

New in 1.1.3: the catch celebration is now an in-box Poke Ball catch animation that doesn't pause play, plus popup, stats and audio fixes. (Still with all 23 Online Highscore Boards, Legends: Z-A Megas, Gigantamax forms & catchable Mythicals.)

System Requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
  • Internet optional - needed only for the online highscore boards
  • 1 GB RAM minimum
  • 1920×1080 display recommended
  • Keyboard, or any USB/Bluetooth gamepad
  • ~1 GB free disk space (474 MB download)

What's Included

  • Easy Windows installer - with Start Menu shortcuts & clean uninstall
  • Full Pokémon sprite library
  • Complete soundtrack (Jukebox)
  •  Controller & keyboard support
  • FIRST LAUNCH DOING NOTHING? Windows deep-scans large new downloads before running them - you may see a busy cursor and then silence. Give it a minute or two and double-click again. Still stuck? Right-click the installer → Troubleshoot compatibility.
  • NOTE: Windows SmartScreen may show an "unknown publisher" prompt the first time you run the installer - click More info → Run anyway. The game is completely clean (0/69 detections on VirusTotal) and this prompt simply reflects that it's an indie release without a paid code-signing certificate.
